Jerome "Jerry" R. Woyak, 67, 142 First Drive, Bancroft, died Friday, March 30, 2001, at St. Michael's Hospital.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church in Plainfield, with the Rev. Faustin Misakobo officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the services. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Monday at the church.
The Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Woyak was born Aug. 22, 1933, in the town of Stockton, a son of the late Julius and Verna (Dombrowski) Woyak.
He was married to Janet Anne Adamczak on Oct. 20, 1956, at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover.
He entered the U.S. Army on Jan. 22, 1957, in Milwaukee. He served as a private first class with the infantry in Korea. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 29, 1958, at Fort Sheridan, Ill. He received the Good Conduct Medal.
He then served in the U.S. Army Reserves until January of 1963.
After his return from active duty, he and his wife settled in Amherst Junction, where they farmed until 1968. They then moved to the Plainfield area where they farmed for the past 33 years, until his retirement in 1996.
He was a member and trustee for St. Paul Catholic Church in Plainfield.
He was a supervisor for the town of Leola in Waushara County for many years. He was also a member of the Bancroft Lions Club, Knights of Columbus of Plainfield and the Sun-Ski Hunting Club for more than 47 years.
Survivors included his wife; one son, Jack Julius, Bancroft; three daughters, Joan (Duane) Wallner, Plainfield, Julie (Dale) Craig, Bancroft, and Janine (Jeff) Schwartzmen, Hancock; three brothers, Gerald "Bob" (Lynette), Bancroft, George (Robin), Amherst Junction, and Leonard, Stevens Point; three sisters, Marcy (Roger) Worzalla, Custer, Marge (Carl) Lucht, Pontiac, Ill., and Marlene Woyak, Stevens Point; and eight grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
