- Ramona (Gavin) Hoffmann
Ramona Gavin Hoffmann, age 79 of 5474 Floral La. died Sunday June 10, 2007 at St Joseph Hospital in Marshfield following a brief illness. She had been diagnosed with acute leukemia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. The Rev. Al Jakubowski will officiate. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8PM on Wednesday and from 9:30 - 10:15AM on Thursday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. The St. Stanislaus Rosary Society and St. Elizabeth Court Catholic Order of Forester's, both of which she was a member, will combine with the general rosary at 7PM on Wednesday.
Ramona was born on Jan. 15, l928 in the Town of New Hope, the daughter of the late Edward & Veronica (Gagas) Hintz. She graduated from Rosholt High School. She then worked for Sentry Ins. for twelve years. After raising her children, she worked as an administrator at the Portage County Home until retirement in 1989. Ramona enjoyed traveling & gardening and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and St Stanislaus Church.
She married Ben Gavin on June 25, l949 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He died on Sept. 10, l985. She married Alvin Hoffmann on Dec. 2, l989 at St Stanislaus.
Ramona is survived by her husband Alvin, one son Gary (Jean) Gavin of Stevens Point, one daughter Lisa LeVasseur of Cortez, CO, two grandchildren Eric and Lacey and one great-grandson Dorrian, 7 step-children, 14 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren, one sister Delores (Dennis) Berna of Iola and five brothers, Edward (Henrietta) of Milwaukee, Ernie (Gretta) of Eagle River, Myron (Vergene) of Fond du Lac, George (Ginnie) Amherst and Conrad (Sandra) Minneapolis, l sister-in-law Toni Hintz of Weyauwega, she was preceded in death by one brother Leonard
