Funeral services Robert T. Sanden, 82, of Hudson, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Laurel Lake Retirement Community, 200 Laurel Lake Dr., in Hudson, and 11 a.m. Saturday at Brunner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., in Mentor.
Mr. Sanden died Sept. 15, 2005, at Crown Center at Laurel Lake in Hudson.
Born Sept. 29, 1922, in Minneapolis, Minn., he had been a longtime resident of Shaker Heights before moving to Hudson 10 years ago.
He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in metallurgical engineering and was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard.
Mr. Sanden began his career at Hanna Mining in Hibbing, Minn. He locally worked at Material Separators Incorporated in Mentor, Pickands Mather Incorporated, and Mineral Service Incorporated in Cleveland. He retired from Best Sand in Chardon. (M.M.C.O.C.)
Survivors are his children, Jon "Jack" (Sue) Sanden of Lewiston, Idaho, James Sanden of Mentor, William (Margo) Sanden of Tucson, Ariz., and Allison Sanden of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Jason, Adam, Thorvald, Eric, Jess, Jamie, and B.J.; and sister, Bertha Larson of Fergus Falls., Minn.
His wife, Dorothy C. (Kip) Bachman Sanden; parents, Timan and Sigrid; and brother, Thorleif, are deceased.
Friends may call 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Laurel Lake Retirement Community in Hudson prior to the services, and 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery in Mentor.
