L. J. WILMOT, 77, LAKE COUNTY OFFICIAL, DIES

Services for L. J. Wilmot, 77, dean of Lake county public officials before he retired as Circuit court clerk in January, 1960, will be held at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow in a chapel at 408 N. Sheridan rd., Waukegan.

Mr. Wilmot, who lived at 909 Keith av., Waukegan, died Saturday in Victory Memorial hospital, Waukegan.

Born in Deerfield and named Lyman Jefferson, he went to work for Lake county in 1903, after his graduation from Waukegan Township High school, and served in the courthouse for the next 56 1/2 years, the longest public service career in the history of the county.

Mr. Wilmot's wife, Laura, died in 1958. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Helen Meador; three sons, Lyman J. Jr., Marshall, and Robert; three sisters; nine grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
