    • Sally M. Somers, 80, Stevens Point, formerly of Custer, died Tuesday afternoon, July 8, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
      Sally was born April 19, 1928, in the town of Sharon. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria (Strosin) Ziolkowski. She attended local schools in the town of Sharon. Her marriage to Adolph Somers took place on Sept. 30, 1950, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. He preceded her in death in 1989.
      Sally was a member of the St. Mary's Altar Society, National Order of Foresters, the American Legion Post No. 6 Auxiliary, and was a faithful member for over 50 years of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Custer.
      Sally's love was spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards with her special foursome, including herself, "Sal the Gal," Delores, Marion and Mary Ann. Also, her special friendship with Heidi added much joy to her life.
      In lieu of flowers, a memorial in her name will be established at a later date.
      Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie Somers, Green Bay, Donnette (John) Mayrick, Hartland, Doreen Somers/Jan Idzikowski, Edwards, Colo.; one son, Brian Somers, Eagle, Colo.; four grandchildren, Brenda, Eric (Trisha), Sydney and Collin; one brother, Ben Ziolkowski, Wausau; and one sister, Adeline Meronek, Stevens Point.
      She was preceded in death by one infant daughter, two sisters and six brothers.
      The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Custer, with the Rev. George Thayilkuzhottu officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Family and friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the church. The St. Mary's Altar Society will combine with the parish rosary at 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Online condolences may be directed to www.pisarski funeralhome.com.
